Grant will help foundation build environmental Web site

According to The Buffalo News, The Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo received a $188,000 three-year grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to build WNY Green Table, a virtual meeting space for the local environmental community.

The Community Foundation will fully match the award with its own discretionary grant funding. WNY Green Table will use on-line discussion groups, resource directories, event calendars and job/volunteer/advocacy postings to provide information, interactive communication, networking and collective problem solving. It will also feature a community “pledge wall” to engage citizens in a commitment to creating a greener Western New York.
